ADULT CARE:

Loss of vision is not reversible. The best way to maintain or achieve good eye health is to visit your optometrist for an eye exam every year. >> Learn more

FOR SENIORS:

Our eye care needs change as we age, there are some key testing and considerations we take when working with mature eyes. >> Learn more

02

EXPERIENCED OPTICIAN:

Opticians specialize in the fitting of and fabrication of ophthalmic lenses, eyewear, contact lenses and low vision aids. They will use the prescription supplied by the optometrist or ophthalmologist to create glasses that fit well, and will perform in all of your activities.  In Alberta, this is a regulated medical profession. There is post-secondary schooling required to be a licensed optician, and then  mandatory continuing education throughout the opticians career to stay current with todays technology. Good communications skills are a must, as well as an understanding of optical physics.
